QUICK INFO
NAME: Tsav
CANON: Sentenced to be a Hero
AGE: Early 20's, assumed 23-ish.
PROFESSION: Penal hero, ex-assassin.
SUMMARY: Formerly an elite assassin raised by a cult. Was later abandoned by the cult for failing to take out his assigned targets -- he would grow too attached to his targets while researching them, and would instead kill random strangers, reduce the corpses to mincemeat, and submit those as his targeted kills. Earned the moniker "Man-Eating Ghoul" for that stunt. After his abandonment, was arrested by the Federated Kingdom's Holy Knights and punished with the worst possible sentence: serving as a penal hero. As a penal hero, Tsav is forced to serve on the frontlines in a neverending war against the encroaching Demon Blight. If killed, he will be forcefully resurrected and returned to the frontlines, regardless of how repeated resurrections might damage his memories or psyche. His sentence will not end until every last Demon Lord is dead. Which is to say -- never.
CANON POINT: Unspecified, but I've read up to volume 5 of the light novel (past where the first season of the anime will cover). He's unlikely to talk about anything spoiler-y, but please let me know if you're extra wary of spoilers and I'll do my best to watch what he yaps about!

VISUAL: Scruffy. Average height with a lean, sinewy build. Messy, dirty-blonde hair and purplish-gray eyes with an eerie level of focus; has an upper tooth missing. Usually seen wearing a slovenly, cheerful grin and carries himself with a casual, easy grace. Dresses lightly, favoring earthtones.
AURAL: Annoying. (VA: Fukushima Jun.) Seriously, multiple characters describe him as annoying. Extremely chatty, speaks quickly and emphatically, incessantly friendly and casual. Surface-level polite but absolutely does not sound like he means it.
OLFACTORY: I gotta be honest -- he's probably a little stinky, as he hails from a magitech fantasy setting and is used to roughing it out in poor conditions with scarce resources. Will bathe when able, but otherwise smells a little of sweat and dirt, maybe blood if he's been 'working.'
DEMEANOUR: At a glance -- overly friendly and a bit manic but probably harmless. Incessantly chatty, hates staying quiet and is not afraid to regale people with the same story over and over; tends to ramble about absolutely random and nonsensical topics, and assign overly friendly nicknames on a whim. However, Tsav actually has a completely broken sense of morality and ethics; as a result, he can say some absolutely off-the-wall, heinous things without warning, and with complete sincerity. It will probably not take long for most people to clock that there is something seriously wrong with him.

PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Yes! However, fair warning that Tsav is considered a prodigal beast of an assassin in his canon, with terrifyingly quick reflexes and years of horrific training beaten into him. He also has zero scruples about killing people who have wronged him, as long as they are strangers to him. For people he's familiar with, a fight can probably end with some back-and-forth and a few injuries, but for people he's unfamiliar with, he'll immediately retaliate with intent to kill. I'm not particularly interested in anime power levels and dickwaving, but I'm also reluctant to be OOC and have him roll over too quickly in a fight, so please let me know if you're interested in a serious conflict and we can hash things out!
RELATIONSHIPS: He should not be in a relationship. (Realtalk, I think the sheer degree to which his brain is broken makes relationships unlikely. That said, if something comes up then I'm willing to explore it! I'm just not explicitly looking for ships for him for now.)
PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: No psychic defenses! For characters who are very sensitive to spiritual matters, Tsav's soul has been somewhat damaged due to dying and being forcefully resurrected a handful of times.
MAGICAL INFORMATION: In terms of magic, the most notable thing about Tsav is probably the sacred seal tattooed around his neck. In canon it functions as a combination communication device / shock collar / bomb collar used to mark penal heroes and more easily keep them in line. For magically sensitive characters, it probably just pings as something quite powerful that has been forced upon him.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: In good health!
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Tsav is basically impossible to offend or trigger in any sort of meaningful way. However, Tsav himself regularly and lightheartedly brings up his difficult past as a subject to discuss for funsies, calling it his 'tragic backstory.' As he was raised by a cult to be their assassin, things he survived or witnessed in his childhood include: child abduction, torture, abuse, murder, ritual sacrifice, brainwashing, and probably more. He usually doesn't go into graphic detail about any of these, and will also usually change the subject if he gets yelled at, but they're liable to come up sooner or later when he's interacting with people. Please just let me know if any of these subjects are complete no-go zones and I'll do my best to avoid them! I also have a more detailed opt-out and opt-in post here!
